Highs and Lows

We had the great pleasure of witnessing the marriage of our son H to his fiance M in a simple but beautiful and meaningful ceremony on Monday the 25th, and later celebrated with a steak dinner in one of the restaurants.  The following day I received the news that my mother had fallen at home, and had been admitted to hospital.  Fortunately it looks as though the injuries aren't too severe, but I can't help being worried.  My cousin M has been so good, helping out at home.  Life is strange.  It gives with one hand, and takes away with the other.

Chichen Itza

Took a trip to the Mayan city of Chichen Itza. Abandoned 500 years ago, and rediscovered in the forest having been lost for hundreds of years.

A wondrous site, but at midday in temperatures close to 35 degrees it was a bit too hot to fully appreciate it.

Cancun. Mexico.

H, son number 1 is getting married. M and he wanted a holiday as well, so here we are at the Moon Palace. The hotel is massive, with 5 star luxury from wall to wall. This is the view from our balcony.

Another day in paradise just about to start.
