Wet Days

The rain has followed us south. We have been under the same cloud for four days. We had a wet ride to the Vosge but the weather fooled us by drying up just before we arrived. We therefore booked into a campsite not a B&B. Once the tent was up the rain started again! The setting of the campsite was beautiful, beside a lake, surrounded by pine clad hills, although wreathed in low cloud and mist. It was very peaceful with only the sound of the birds. The next day was supposed to be spent riding the wonderful roads there or boating on the lake. Instead, in the morning, we played cards in the tent while the rain hammered down. In the afternoon we had a walk into Gerardmer.

On Friday morning we again woke to the sound of rain on the tent and muttered a few expletives to ourselves. Fortunately it eased for a while so we broke camp and headed up to Nurtigen in Germany to spend a few days with Mr Mogs cousin & her husband. They gave us a tremendous welcome and we are having a wonderful time enjoying their hospitality for a few days.
