Family Affairs

After 3 wonderful days at Haus Weber we had to drag ourselves away. We did so many things together that I can't mention them all. However a few moments stand out. Firstly the welcome. We arrived hot and a little damp after packing up the tent in the drizzle in the Vosges. Once in the house Berndt had a beer in my hand in moments. We hadn't seen each other for years, but it seemed we were like old friends meeting. The food all weekend was superb thanks to Sue, and we appreciated Berndt's expertise in choosing excellent wines to complement the dishes. I really enjoyed being chauffeured round the Nurtingen area, as it gave me a good feel for the locality. However all good things must come to an end, so we made an early start at 12.00!
