What is mincemeat, anyway?!? I'm sure I could use wikipedia just as easily, but I wanted to wish you two a merry Christmas, so Merry Christmas!
The pie looks good, Whatever might be inside!

Mince pies are a traditional British Christmas sweet pie. In mediaeval times they contained spiced ground ( I think that's American for minced!) beef but now mincemeat is a mixture of dried fruit - raisins, sultanas, currants - and candied peel, apple with mixed spice & treacle in a jam like mix. Usually eaten as a snack with a cup of tea or accompanying the Christmas pud for dessert on Christmas Day. Don't you have them in the States or do they go by a different name?
